Background to our organisation
The Association was originally known as the Christian Road Safety League. It was founded in 1937 by the late Mrs Barbara Mackie MBE, together with a group of young people who were concerned about the growing number of people who were being killed and injured on the roads. The Association is, and always has been, a faith organisation.

It is entirely dependent upon voluntary workers to undertake administration, and on voluntary donations to meet its various essential operating expenses.
Although founded in the United Kingdom, the Association is now truly international, with members from all over the globe.

Our Ministry work
We organise church services and other meetings with a road safety theme and we promote the belief that care and prayer on the road really can save lives.
In the United Kingdom, churches, youth fellowships, and other organisations can invite the Association to either organise a road safety service or meeting, or to supply a copy of Road Safety Service and Hymns to those able to arrange their own service. The Association can often supply a representative to either conduct your worship and/or speak about its ministry. No charge is made, although travelling expenses are appreciated when possible.
Fellowships can also help by holding retiring offerings and/or arranging special fundraising events. Coffee mornings and/or evenings, book sales, sales of work are all on-going suggestions, as are proceeds from productions such as plays, musicals and concerts.
As a charity, we are able to use customer loyalty points (eg, Fina For You vouchers and other promotional coupons). Start collecting today - it's surprising how quickly these mount up! Some churches have boxes for collecting such items from members of their congregations.
The CRSA promotes the road safety theme through a number of publications.
